Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is pleased to announce that Megan Roush, VHFA Director of Development, has been selected for the VermontBiz Recognizes Vermont’s Rising Stars Class of 2023
The autumn leaves in Vermont are not the only thing aglow this Fall! With immense joy, excitement, and hearty applause, we celebrate one of our own brilliant stars, Megan Roush, who has been rightfully crowned a Rising Star Awardee by Vermont Business Magazine (VermontBiz). This accolade, drenched in prestige and admiration, acknowledges the passionate, zealous, and innovative young leaders under 40 for their tireless contributions to business growth, professional excellence, and an unyielding commitment to their communities.
VermontBiz, with 14 years of tradition in recognizing aspiring leaders, experienced a phenomenal response to this initiative in 2023, garnering over 130 outstanding nominations. The five-judge panel, tasked with the daunting challenge of selecting the top 40, identified these professionals who have not just soared in their respective fields of employment but also have embraced Vermont as their home, immersing themselves as vital roots in the community, contributing towards its prosperity and vibrancy.
“Megan’s thoughtful, creative, and collaborative leadership shapes the way Vermont meets our statewide housing and community development goals,” said VHFA’s Managing Director of Community Development, Seth Leonard. “VHFA is proud to have such a dynamic young leader focused on meeting the housing needs of low to moderate-income Vermonters.”
Roush, a resident of Northfield, has served as Director of Development since last August 2022. Prior to that, Megan held the position of Community Development Underwriter beginning in 2019. In that role, she served as the chair of the Manufactured Housing Subcommittee of the Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition. Prior to coming to VHFA, Roush worked as a Housing Loan Specialist at USDA Rural Development. Roush has a bachelor's degree from Saint Michael's College and is currently completing her M.S. in Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont.
She also serves as a volunteer emergency medical technician with Colchester Rescue. We’re looking forward to seeing what she accomplishes next!
