VHFA Announces the Promotion of Sara Everest to IT Director

VHFA is excited to announce the promotion of Sara Everest to IT Director. In her new role, Sara leads VHFA’s information technology function, guiding technology investments that support day‑to‑day operations while driving long‑term organizational goals.

Widely respected for her collaborative approach and her ability to translate organizational needs into innovative and sustainable technology solutions, Sara brings clarity to complexity, and a focus on reliability, security, and usability—ensuring VHFA’s systems continue to advance the Agency’s mission and strategic objectives. In addition to IT operations, she manages vendor partnerships, system planning and implementation, and cybersecurity. This role ensures that VHFA’s technology is reliable, secure, and positioned to evolve to meet the agency’s needs.

Sara started at VHFA in 2013 as a web developer. Her role steadily expanded as she assumed broader technology leadership responsibilities—guiding complex initiatives, modernizing systems, and building solutions that support internal operations and public‑facing services. Sara was instrumental in the early development of the Agency’s website, modernization of Vermont’s affordable housing datahub—housingdata.org, and numerous technology upgrades that support the work and mission of VHFA. 

In addition to her technical leadership, Sara is an active contributor to internal teams and agency initiatives, known for her steady leadership, problem‑solving mindset, and collaborative spirit. Her promotion to IT Director reflects VHFA’s continued investment in strong, thoughtful leadership and recognizes the lasting impact Sara has made—and will continue to make—across the organization.
