Ribbon cutting celebrated at Wentworth Community Housing
Earlier this week, local leaders, housing developers and new residents gathered in White River Junction to celebrate the opening of Wentworth Community Housing. The project, developed by Twin Pines Housing and Housing Vermont, created 30 one and two bedroom apartments, 21 of which will be rented at rates affordable to low income Vermonters. The project received the majority of its funding from federal tax credits and a loan awarded by VHFA.

Register for FHLBank Boston’s 2019 Affordable Housing Program Training
The Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Boston has announced its training schedule and application deadlines for the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) for 2019. The program awards approximately $20.7 million in grants and low-interest loans through member institutions to organizations promoting homeownership and rental housing opportunities for low income households.
Among the recent projects that have received funding through this program are Lake Paran, an affordable rental housing development in Shaftsbury, Vermont that will break ground in the coming months.
Hearing on HUD 2019 ConPlan to be held on April 11
The State of Vermont’s Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will be holding a public hearing to receive comments on its draft of the 2019 HUD Annual Action Plan at 5:30 PM this Thursday, April 11 at the Bethel Town Hall.
