1. Health Impact Assessment: Options and Opportunities in Vermont

The Vermont Department of Health is pleased to offer this introductory workshop on Health Impact Assessment (HIA) – a method for evaluating potential positive and negative health impacts of policy and planning decisions. Participants will learn: • what situations and types of decisions would benefit from a HIA • what the core steps are in conducting a HIA • where to get data and additional expertise • when and how to engage your community in conducting an HIA This interactive session will include a mix of presentations, small group exercises, and case studies to explore how HIA might be used in your work with healthy community design. This is a free workshop open to anyone interested in learning more about using Health Impact Assessment. Morning coffee provided. Lunch on your own. Registration is required. Free.
