Executive Director Maura Collins announced that Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has selected Abigail Colbeth (she/her) of Williston and Michael Plunkett (he/him) of Fairfax to join its Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) team.
VHFA’s Mortgage Assistance Program uses federal CARES Act funding to provide grants covering up to 12 months of past due mortgage payments and property taxes for eligible Vermont homeowners impacted by the pandemic. Since re-opening for a second round on May 3rd, the program has already received over 230 applications.
"We’re excited to have Abigail and Michael to assist with our MAP Program," Collins remarked. “We need to move quickly to help keep Vermonters in their homes, while also maintaining great customer service. Abigail and Michael’s experience and enthusiasm will be a valuable addition to our team.”
Colbeth will be joining VHFA in the newly created role of Mortgage Assistance Application Specialist. She has experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor at New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) and as a Client Service Representative at Androscoggin Bank. Plunkett will assume the newly created role of Mortgage Assistance Confirmation Specialist. He has experience working at the call center at People’s United Bank and as a tax preparer with Vermont Professional Tax.
