VHFA staff begins its annual spring wellness program next week. This year, it's "The Five-Week Wellness Challenge," a progressive fitness program that encourages staff members to make small improvements to their health each week.

For week #1, beginning next week, staff are encouraged to get up and get moving. Here are some suggestions, if you'd like to play along at your office:

  • Park further away from your building. Take the first parking spot you see, or park at the far end of a row. You'll spend the same amount of time walking to the door as you might driving around looking for a parking place.
  • When you leave, do one lap around the building before going to your car. This takes less than one minute.
  • Take a few laps on the stairs.
  • Walk 15 minutes in the morning before or after work.

Staff members who participate are entered into a weekly drawing for gift certificates at local be-well merchants.
