A year ago since Tropical Storm Irene, Vermonters are coming to terms with the fact that extreme weather events will undoubtedly become more frequent. In response, the Institute for Sustainable Communities, a Montpelier-based nonprofit, is launching a new project called "Resilient Vermont". The goal of the project is to enhance Vermont’s ability to build on lessons learned from last year’s disasters and increase the state’s ability to adapt. The Institute for Sustainable Communities is partnering with the Shumlin Administration, the state’s Department of Economic, Housing, and Community Development and other stakeholders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors to produce tools for the state to improve its resiliency.
The Vermont Statewide Housing Conference is proud to announce its lineup of 18 workshops, in-depth plenary panel and keynote speaker, and networking opportunities. Register online today for this important event!
