Today’s Burlington Free Press spotlights Matt Young, supervisor for the Howard Center’s Street Outreach Team, who “doesn’t just find the homeless shelter [but] wants to show them the way to a home.”  Young and his team walk the streets of Burlington, assisting 550-950 people each year.  He explained that they see some people every day. 

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is formalizing the national standard for determining whether a housing practice violates the Fair Housing Act as the result of discriminatory effect. 

Champlain Housing Trust is offering free credit reports and a 30-minute appointment with a credit counselor tomorrow, Wednesday, February 6.   Any household with an annual income of $50,000 or less is eligible.
