This past year, Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) celebrated fifty years of financing the development of affordable housing throughout Vermont. Since its inception as a quasi-governmental housing agency in 1974 a lot has changed, including Vermont's economic and housing landscape which are fundamentally tied together.
Marsh House Groundbreaking Signifies Positive Change for People with Special Housing Needs
On Monday, February 10, the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) and other project funders and supporters, gathered in Waterbury, VT for the groundbreaking ceremony of Marsh House, a mixed-income project that will serve 26 low-income households. Unique to the project are three apartments which will be occupied by individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Deborah Flannery joins VHFA as the Managing Director of Community Development
Deborah Flannery of Essex has joined VHFA as the new Managing Director of Community Development. Deb has over 25 years’ experience of working for affordable housing and community development organizations, including three previous Housing Finance Agencies in other states. She has deep knowledge of public and private investment including multifamily finance and development, economic revitalization, and affordable homeownership.
