The Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) Board of Commissioners announced this week that its annual award of federal housing tax credits will support the construction of 109 permanently affordable apartments in five communities across the state. The sale of this year’s tax credits to investors is expected to yield nearly $25 million in funding, which will cover an estimated 55 percent of total project development costs.

New data shows how Vermont towns balance jobs and homes
Towns with sufficient homes to house the employees that work there are more likely to make inroads against climate change and the housing affordability crisis. According to data published this week by the Vermont Housing Data website, the top Vermont town with over 10,000 workplaces to strike this balance is Essex. For every 100 homes in Essex, the town has 112 jobs.
VHFA issues RFP for Manufactured Home Technical Assistance
Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) is seeking an organization or consortium to provide technical assistance to Manufactured Home Communities (MHC) to assist them in completing financial analyses or preparing applications to meet their infrastructure needs. Applications are due on May 25, 2022.
