VHFA Awards State Tax Credits for 78 Affordable Homes in 4 Towns

On June 23rd, the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) Board of Commissioners awarded Vermont State Affordable Housing Tax Credits for 78 rental homes across the state. Sixty-nine existing apartments in Bennington, Brandon, Fairlee and St. Johnsbury will be renovated, and nine new apartments created in Fairlee.

In combination with other funding sources, these awards will help rehabilitate a variety of rental homes ranging in size from a studio apartment to 3+ bedroom apartments. Forty-one of the apartments will be for people who are older or have disabilities. All of the apartments will be for residents earning less than 60% of the area median income.
