Home prices in Vermont are stabilizing, and will continue to become more stable in 2010. That was the message the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) Lawrence Yun (pictured) delivered when he addressed the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors yesterday.
An article in this morning's Burlington Free Press ("Vt. Realtors told dip in prices nearly over") cites Vermont Real Estate Information Network figures that show the median price of single-family homes in Chittenden County fell 3.8 percent to $255,000 from 2008 to 2009. Median condo prices dipping 5.5 percent to $188,000.
"Vermont was not hit as hard as the rest of the country," Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors Executive Vice-President Kathy Sweeten says in the article.
Heads-up: The Vermont Housing Data Web site, co-produced by VHFA and UVM's Center for Rural Studies, will be publishing town-by-town home prices for 2009 in the next couple weeks.
