Our friends at the Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL) in Montpelier have named Sarah Wendell Launderville (right) Executive Director of the organization.
Sarah started at the center in 1997, and is currently Home and Community Access Program Manager.
She becomes Executive Director on April 1 when she replaces Deborah Lisi-Baker (left), who's directed the center for 10 years.
Deborah's retiring from her position, but plans to remain active in disability rights by teaching and consulting.
Founded in 1979, VCIL promotes the rights of Vermonters with disabilities. It's a statewide nonprofit organization that's run by individuals with disabilities.
