VHFA provides financing, management support, and subsidy administration for approximately 10,000 affordable apartments statewide through the Agency's Community Development department.
Achieving Vermont's affordable housing goals would not be possible if not for the Developers who have built the physical homes and the Managing Agents who oversee the maintenance of the affordable housing stock.
In the Developers section of the VHFA site, there are resources and information about VHFA's administration of state and federal tax credits and loan programs, including program guidelines, the Common Application, previous allocations and reservations of tax credits and bonds, and the most recent Qualified Allocation Plan. There is also information about new funding sources available through VHFA. This section of the site is maintained by the Agency's Development Department.
In the Managing Agents section of the VHFA site, there are documents for compliance with state and federal multifamily affordable housing programs, as well as access to housing managers associations and resident services coordination organizations, maintained by the Agency's Multifamily Asset Management & Compliance Department.
The Rental Housing FAQ contains a short list of resources available to Vermont renters seeking information. VHFA provides financing to developers of affordable rental housing in Vermont, but does not own or manage this housing. VHFA also does not administer rental assistance or accept applications for housing.
