We're pleased to announce Shaun Donovan, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), will deliver the keynote address at the Vermont Statewide Housing Conference this month.
VHFA Policy and Planning Manager Maura Collins, the event's chief planner, has been working with the office of Sen. Bernie Sanders for several months to obtain the Secretary as a speaker.
"Sec. Donovan, like all members of the president's cabinet, has a very busy schedule and is in high demand as a speaker at events all over the country," Maura says, "so we're very happy to welcome him to Vermont. A special thanks goes to Bernie's staff members, who were instrumental in helping bring Sec. Donovan to the conference."
She adds, "We're looking forward to being addressed by the country's top housing official, and think Sec. Donovan's participation will make for one of the most exciting opportunities for attendees of our biennial conference in many years."
Sec. Donovan will address the conference at 9 a.m. Doors open at 8.
