University of Vermont graduate student Barbara Asiimwe (she/her) has been named the Fall 2021 Vermont Housing Fellow. Asiimwe will receive a financial stipend to help VHFA’s research and outreach for its upcoming Homeowner Assistance Program. In addition, the Vermont Housing Fellowship program is intended to provide the Fellow with valuable experience aiding her professional development. 

Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has launched a new video series on how affordable housing works in Vermont and the important housing issues facing our state today.

VHFA offers loan programs through local participating lenders to help people bridge the gap and afford to buy a home in Vermont. Getting a pre-approval from a lender is the first step in the process. Here are answers to the top 5 questions homebuyers have about pre-approvals.

Buying a home is a complex process and often one of the largest financial investments made by a consumer in their lifetime.  Homebuyer education provides consumers with valuable insight and tools to better navigate the home purchase process.  The Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) requires homebuyer education and counseling for all consumers obtaining a VHFA loan to ensure that every consumer is well-informed and prepared for homeownership.

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) has released a digital version of An Illustrated Guide to Vermont Renter’s Rights. The guide is narrated by visually striking cartoons that explain tenant rights and responsibilities throughout the rental process, and suggests resources for renters who need additional assistance. The guide is currently available in English, French, Arabic, and Nepali.

The Vermont Resident Services Coordinators (VRSC) invites you to join them on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 for a training workshop.  The workshop will be followed by the VRSC member meeting.
