The July 2023 floods in Vermont left many community businesses and homeowners in dire need of help. In response Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) will receive $67.8 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for disaster recovery and relief in the communities hit hardest by the flooding.

In a press release issued June 27th from the ACCD, the agency states that the funds will help communities with the necessary expenses related to disaster relief, long-term recovery, and the restoration of infrastructure and housing in the most impacted and distressed (MID) areas. All eligible projects must demonstrate an unmet need with a direct tie-back to flooding in July 2023 and primarily benefit low- and moderate-income households and individuals.
ACCD is providing technical assistance for prospective Disaster Recovery projects located with the HUD- or State-Identified MID areas. Interested parties should email them at [email protected] or visit their website to learn more.
