Executive Director Maura Collins announced that VHFA has selected Chad Simmons of Montpelier as its new Housing Policy and Engagement Specialist.

Simmons has spent the past decade building connections with legislators and other Vermont stakeholders to improve lives in the areas of substance use, child care and clean energy. He has also worked with Equity Solutions as a team member, advancing social justice for a variety of Vermont organizations.

"Chad's experience collaborating on behalf of Vermonters and communities challenged with substance use disorder, trauma, income inequity and racism positions him well to widen his scope to include housing," Collins remarked. "We look forward to putting his skills to work, bringing key organizations and voices together to make progress in achieving Vermont's housing goals."

Simmons will support VHFA's legislative work and policy development and strengthen VHFA's partnerships with existing organizations and engagement with new players. He will also be responsible for helping VHFA achieve it's justice, equity, diversity and inclusion goals through its operations, programs and investments.
