Residents and guests gathered at McKenzie House in Burlington this week to celebrate the project's past 30 years and bright future providing affordable rental housing. By renewing the project's HUD Section 8 HAP Contract, the project's owner, the O'Brien Brothers Agency, extended its commitment to keeping these 41 apartments for area seniors and disabled residents affordable in the future. VHFA has been the lender and HUD Contract Administrator for this property since it was developed in 1983 and was instrumental in demonstrating for the owners the value in keeping the property in the affordable housing inventory.
VHFA's Director of Multifamily Programs, Sam Falzone, and Multifamily Management Officer, Erin Philbrick, attended the celebration which featured a delicous lunch of prime rib, chicken cordon bleu and cake.
