Cathedral Square's Richmond Terrace Senior Living has received Enterprise Green Communities Certification, demonstrating the organization's commitment to high-performance, healthy homes for low-income seniors. The Enterprise Green Communities program promotes integrative design, location near services and within neighborhoods, water conservation, energy efficiency, sustainable materials, healthy living environments, and resident engagement.
Renovations of Richmond Terrace Senior Living were completed in 2014. New kitchens and bathrooms were installed, as well as major improvements to the building envelope, insulation and air sealing, new windows and siding, energy efficient air source heat pumps for cooling and heating, a 13KW ground mounted solar array to harness energy from the sun, and a facelift to the community room and hallways.
VHFA provided construction and permanent financing as well as federal and state housing tax credits for the rehabilitation of the project. Read more.
