Housing Hero

Since 2002, Vermont's Statewide Housing Conference has celebrated the achievements and service of individuals by recognizing them through the Housing Hero Award.

The conference committee is seeking nominations of individuals whose leadership, vision and actions have brought about positive and lasting change in the way their community or the state regards housing. Nominations are due by Noon, November 7th.

Nominees should exemplify:

  • Commitment to expanding opportunities for fair, decent, safe and affordable housing for all Vermonters
  • Demonstrated leadership and have an impact within their community or across the state
  • Commitment to public service in Vermont
  • Shared vision to address the housing challenges and create innovative solutions
  • The ability to bring Vermonters together towards our shared housing goals 

Who are you nominating as a Housing Hero?
Please describe why you are nominating this individual as a Housing Hero. Briefly discuss their contributions to affordable housing in Vermont, and how this person exemplifies the characteristics described above. What impact has this individual had on housing in their community and/or across Vermont? Please specify if the nominee is an individual or group. Is this work done as part of their job/profession or as a volunteer?
