More than $14 million of economic aid funds have already been released to Vermont, less than 10 days after President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The funds are directed to state and local agencies through the:

• Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program
• Homeless Prevention Program Fund
• Capital Fund Formula Program
• Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Assistance Fund

Vermont's congressional delegation today praised the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the quick turnaround.

Stuart Offer, Wellness Educator with the YMCA, presented another lunchtime education session for VHFA staff.

"Facts and Fallacies of Food and Nutrition" was the topic.

Staff wellness is an ongoing initiative of the Agency's administration department.

Late last year, VHFA received an award for workplace wellness from the Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Vermont Public Radio (VPR) aired a segment about VHFA's and VHCB's receiving $2.6 million from the MacArthur Foundation.
