The CASH Coalition of Chittenden County is sponsoring a week of events in celebration of savings! There will be free workshops, classes, and activities to promote the benefit of saving money.

Whether you are saving to buy your first home or planning for your retirement, there are many benefits that come from developing the habit of putting money away for the future.

At 12:15 pm Friday, June 13th, Congressman Peter Welch and Mayor Miro Weinberger will lead a public press conference about the critical link between the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and Vermont’s supply of affordable rental housing. The gathering will focus particularly on proposed legislation to strengthen housing credits as a tool for rehabilitating and constructing affordable housing.

June is a terrific time to reflect on the importance of homeownership in this country, especially in Vermont where residents are more likely than in most states to own their homes. VHFA is working with local lenders across the state to extend the opportunity to own a home to even more Vermonters through low interest loans from a trusted non-profit source.
