VHFA is Hiring a Community Development Underwriter

This position supports the agency in administering financing, tax credit, and other investments to create and preserve Affordable Housing throughout Vermont. The Community Development Underwriter is responsible for analyzing individual multi-family and single-family housing development proposals from applicants across the state of Vermont. Underwriting activities include a comprehensive analysis of project financial feasibility, while supporting applicants in meeting detailed tax credit and loan underwriting compliance requirements. 

The successful applicant will be responsive, accurate, and a clear communicator of detailed programming information and have previous experience in reviewing financing proposals and analyzing financial risk. Familiarity with real estate development, construction, and general building principles is a plus. Direct experience with community development programming in Vermont, especially related to housing development, is preferred.
