The Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) has announced the promotion of Mia Watson to Program Development Director, a new position created to lead the design, implementation, and assessment of housing programs. In her new role, Watson will ensure integration across programs and departments and be responsible for new resource development to advance the agency’s mission.
Watson joined VHFA in 2017 as the Research and Communications Coordinator. Her role steadily expanded as she assumed broader leadership duties for VHFA initiatives. Promoted to Special Programs Manager in 2022, she began heading up VHFA’s energy work including the Weatherization Repayment Assistance Program (WRAP). Most recently, Watson has been responsible for administering VHFA’s homeownership development programs.
“Mia has contributed dramatically to the success of the agency in a variety of ways during her first eight years here,” remarked Maura Collins, VHFA’s Executive Director. “She has a unique ability to distill complex issues into practical solutions while prioritizing the agency’s impact.”
Watson has a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Vermont and a bachelor's degree from McGill University. She resides in Essex Junction, VT.
