VHFA Awards State Tax Credits for 78 Affordable Homes in 4 Towns
On June 23rd, the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) Board of Commissioners awarded Vermont State Affordable Housing Tax Credits for 78 rental homes across the state. Sixty-nine existing apartments in Bennington, Brandon, Fairlee and St. Johnsbury will be renovated, and nine new apartments created in Fairlee.
New Senior Housing Celebrated in Hinesburg with Kelley's Field II
Hinesburg took a big step forward in becoming a part of the senior housing solution with the ribbon cutting and celebration of Kelley’s Field II on June 4th. The addition of 24 new and affordable apartments comes after two years of planning and waiting according to stakeholders who gathered for the community event. The site of the new apartments is adjacent to the 24 apartment-project called Kelley’s Field I.
10th Cavalry Apartments Officially Open: 44% of project development costs covered by VHFA
A celebration marking the completion of the 10th Cavalry Apartments at Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester happened on April 28. Several partners, funders and investors including the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA), joined developer Evernorth, Champlain Housing Trust, and others to celebrate the transformation of the historic property into 65 permanently affordable rental homes at Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester.
Marsh House Groundbreaking Signifies Positive Change for People with Special Housing Needs

VHFA announces innovative funding and state tax credit awards for 254 homes
Last week, the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) Board of Commissioners awarded Vermont State Affordable Housing Tax Credits for homeownership development projects across the state. Once sold to investors, the credits will yield nearly $3 million in equity for downpayment assistance for newly constructed or substantially rehabilitated single-family homes as well as energy-efficient manufactured homes.
