Long commutes less prevalent in Vermont than other parts of the country
An estimated 14,400 Vermont workers (4.8 percent) commute an hour or longer, according to a recent Census Bureau study of people who worked outside the home in 2011. Every New England state had a higher prevalence of long commutes than Vermont. Nationwide, 8.1 percent of workers commuted this long.
Seth Leonard joins VHFA as Homeownership Outreach Coordinator
Seth Leonard of Winooski has joined VHFA as Homeownership Outreach Coordinator. He will be responsible for education and training, marketing of VHFA mortgage programs and program development.
Seth comes to VHFA after four years with Opportunities Credit Union where he was a Branch Manager, responsible for mortgage and consumer lending and marketing.

Brittany Riley promoted to HR/ Office Coordinator at VHFA
Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced last week that Brittany Riley of South Burlington has been promoted to VHFA's HR/Office Coordinator.
Brittany joined the Agency in 2011 as an Administrative Assistant. She was promoted to the Administrative/Payroll Coordinator position in April of this year.
A fond farewell to VHFA’s Sue Joachim
After 29 years at VHFA, Sue Joachim decided to retire from her post in the finance department.
Sue played several finance roles while at VHFA, most recently serving as its Accounting Specialist, focusing on accounts payable, cash receipts, and other responsibilities.
VHFA sent Sue off in the agency’s traditional style, with a staff celebration, delicious food and an ode from agency lyricist, Sam Falzone.
