Brattleboro Housing Partnership and Housing Vermont broke ground this past Monday on a 55-unit affordable housing project. These two organizations have partnered together to build Red Clover Commons, a three-story senior housing complex located on a 2.8-acre site in Brattleboro.

From Ladd Hall to South Main Apartments: Governor helps celebrate rebirth at the Waterbury state office complex
Governor Shumlin, VHFA’s Sarah Carpenter and many others gathered yesterday to celebrate the opening of South Main Apartments in Waterbury.
When Ladd Hall was hit by Tropical Storm Irene in 2011, few would have imagined the remarkable transformation that would take place over the next four years. Originally constructed in the 1890s and then converted to state agency offices, Irene’s flood waters invaded the building through heating system tunnels.
Historic Putney home renovated to provide 11 affordable apartments
There were smiles a plenty in Putney Thursday as the community celebrated the renovation of the historic Plantz house at 27 Old Depot Road. The apartments will be managed by Windham and Windsor Housing Trust who oversaw the renovation process.
According to VHFA’s Sarah Carpenter who attended the celebration, “we were delighted to provide Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to help create the equity for such a worthwhile project.” Many other funders were involved in the project including Housing Vermont and Historic Tax Credits.
