The Vermont Statewide Housing Conference is the state’s largest affordable housing-focused event occurring every 2 years and drawing hundreds of housing professionals from across Vermont. Organized by Vermont Housing Finance Agency, with help from the multi-agency Steering Committee, the conference is focused on today's most pressing housing issues in Vermont and beyond.

Register early and save! Now through October 18th, you can register at the discounted fee of $200 (*full price registration fee is $250). The event fills quickly. We recommend early registration to secure your spot. We look forward to seeing you at the conference!

About the Conference

In addition to an exciting keynote address, the conference features a full day of breakout sessions designed to inform and inspire. Connect with members of the affordable housing community at special meet ups and networking opportunities and take a moment to share your housing story, such as a BIPOC affinity space, podcast booth and more! This year, we are also looking forward to sharing videos and posters from housing organizations around the state. Interested organizations can submit their video or poster for consideration (see more details about submissions below). 

Conference Keynote Speaker, Shane Phillips

The Statewide Housing Conference welcomes Shane Phillips, researcher, writer, consultant, and Manager of the Randall Lewis Housing Initiative at the UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies where his team leads research on a wide range of housing topics including housing production policies, government revenue and financing reforms, and tenant protections. Additionally, he produces and hosts the UCLA Housing Voice Podcast, a biweekly show that translates policy-relevant research for a non-academic audience. Phillips has spent his career committed to improving public understanding of housing markets and policy, writing and speaking throughout North America. 

A nationally sought after author with articles featured in the Atlantic and Los Angeles Times, his book, "The Affordable City: Strategies for Putting Housing Within Reach," focuses on the prioritization of supply, stability, and subsidy. In addition to delivering the keynote address, Phillips will participate in a morning panel discussion.
