The federal HOME program provides grants to state and local governments to produce affordable housing for low-income families. HOME funds are a vital and unique source of financing for roughly 25 percent of all affordable rental housing recently developed in Vermont. These projects would likely not have been possible without HOME assistance.

Did you know that 36,379 Vermont renter households are cost burdened, spending more than 30% of their income on housing? The U.S. Census Bureau released data from the 2014 American Community Survey (ACS). The ACS collects demographic, housing, economic, and commuting data on an annual basis.
