The pre-application deadline for the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development's (HUD) Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program (EHLP) is coming soon.

Homeowners who want to be considered for mortgage assistance need to complete the pre-application screening materials by July 22.

If there are more potentially eligible homeowners than funds available to assist them, these materials will be entered into a random selection process to pick those invited to complete applications for EHLP loans.

Owners who are selected to participate in the program may be eligible for up to $50,000 in mortgage assistance.

Todd Litman of the Victoria Transport Policy Institute (VTPI) of Victoria, BC, Canada, will be the first expert speaker in the "Environment, Community, Opportunity, Sustainability" (ECOS) Speaker Series.

Todd's VTPI's founder and Executive Director. He's  worked on numerous studies that evaluate transportation costs, benefits and innovations. His part of the team is currently working on the Transportation Study for Burlington's Downtown & Waterfront Plan.

The Chittenden Continuum of Care (CoC) is seeking grant writing services to prepare an application under HUD’s Fiscal Year 2011 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Continuum of Care (CoC) Homeless Assistance Competition. As of the issuance of this RFP, HUD has not yet published the NOFA. However, this RFP is being issued in anticipation of the NOFA being published in the summer or early fall of 2011.  Proposals are due by 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2011.
