VHFA-ers made a special delivery before closing the office for the holidays.  Agency elves stuffed 88 pairs of mittens, gloves and hats with goodies for children and families at Burlington's King Street Center.  Most outerwear was donated by VHFA staff and community members.   More mittens were donated through VHFA's festive Facebook "Like" challenge.

VHFA has taken two big steps towards making housing more affordable in the Green Mountain State.

We closed two bond deals this week: one will fund mortgages for lower income homebuyers and the other restructures and provides the loans for 25 different multifamily rental projects, lowering their interest rates and extending how long the developments must remain affordable.

Five Vermont housing Web sites — Vermont Housing Data, the Vermont Housing Managers Association's site, Vermont Rental Codes, the Vermont Resident Services Coordinators site, and the Vermont Housing Awareness site-- were offline briefly this morning for maintenance.
