The February issue of the Champlain Business Journal features a number of articles about development and housing in Vermont.

Topics cover green construction, the Vermont Neighborhoods Program, condominiums and other multi-unit buildings in Vermont, Act 250 and smart growth.

A number of VHFA-produced reports are cited in the issue, along with comments from Agency friends and partners such as VHFA Commissioner Kevin Dorn, Smart Growth Vermont Executive Director Noelle MacKay, and recently-former Housing Vermont President Andy Broderick.

The Champlain Housing Trust (CHT) presented awards and selected Board members at its annual meeting this past Saturday.

The event was attended by 150 CHT members.

CHT presented U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders with the Tim McKenzie Award for his commitment to the community land trust model for nearly 30 years in public office.

CHT's predecessors, the Burlington Community Land Trust and Lake Champlain Housing, were created under the Sanders Administration while mayor of Burlington in 1984. Since then, Bernie has advocated for investment in permanently affordable housing programs and organizations.

The February issue of Affordable Housing Finance Magazine — yes, there is a magazine for every interest! — features VHFA Executive Director Sarah Carpenter.

Sarah is the subject of the issue's "Pop Quiz" section, answering a number of questions  about her work at the Agency.

We managed a significant accomplishment this week when we added a charting function to the Vermont Housing Data site.

Users of the site's Vermont housing data profiles section will now see charts in addition to tabular data when they opt to view historical information for any data item.

As before, users can also choose to save historical data as Excel files.
