Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO)'s Fair Housing Project will host a free webinar on local housing committees on Friday, August 21 from 12:30 p.m to 2:30 p.m.
Local housing committees can serve as tools for addressing housing needs and promoting housing opportunity, with initiatives tailored to meet the specific needs of their town or city. Housing committees are now more important than ever as more households are pushed into unstable housing situations as a result of the COVID pandemic. This webinar will provide an overview of how to start a housing committee, the ways in which committees can impact housing, and how to engage citizens, with examples from municipalities around the state.
This webinar is co-presented by the Vermont Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD), Vermont Housing Finance Agency, and the Fair Housing Project of CVOEO as part of DHCD’s Community Planning and Revitalization Division Planning & Permitting Innovations series.
