ECOS Project event: Transportation
Todd Litman of the Victoria Transport Policy Institute (VTPI) of Victoria, BC, Canada, will be the first expert speaker in the "Environment, Community, Opportunity, Sustainability" (ECOS) Speaker Series.
Todd's VTPI's founder and Executive Director. He's worked on numerous studies that evaluate transportation costs, benefits and innovations. His part of the team is currently working on the Transportation Study for Burlington's Downtown & Waterfront Plan.
Comment on the Governor's Housing the Homeless Summit
As a follow-up to Gov. Shumlin's June 7 "Housing the Homeless Summit," the Agency of Human Services is seeking your comments.
The Agency has created a Web site to accept your comments about the summit and the topics covered.

Homelessness summit draws crowd
About 140 people from across the state gathered in Montpelier for Gov. Peter Shumlin's Housing the Homeless summit yesterday.
Advocates said the state's focus should be on preventing homelessness and avoiding emergencies.

Statewide fair housing discussions this month
The Vermont Department of Economic, Housing and Community Development (DEHCD) and the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) Fair Housing Project are hosting five focus groups throughout the state in June to discuss fair housing.
They'll explore the factors that might impact the ability of all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin, of similar income to have the same housing choices.
