AmeriCorps*VISTA member Marissa Fischer has joined the Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition (VAHC) for a 1-year term of service.
Marissa is a June 2009 graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Anthropology.
Since graduating, Marissa has worked as a Project Supervisor for Amigos de las Américas in the Dominican Republic and Honduras.
During her college years, she worked in a number of community service positions, including as a Tutoring Coordinator for Acting in the Community Together, Carleton's student service learning program, and volunteered in a number of community service positions, including internships with the Center for Victims of Torture in Minneapolis, the International Institute of Minnesota, and HealthFinders Collaborative.
VAHC is a statewide organization dedicated to ensuring all Vermonters have decent, safe and affordable housing, particularly the state's low and moderate-income residents, elders, and people with disabilities.
