There's no shortage of places on the Internet to express your opinion about any number of topics, but this caught our attention: Someone recently posted a topic on the debate site SparkWords, which has generated a dozen responses — some thoughtful, some less so.

Gov. Jim Douglas has appointed Tayt Brooks Commissioner of the Department of Housing, Economic and Community Development (DHECD).

Brooks had been Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Housing and Community Development, which merged with the Department of Economic Development to form DHECD.

Previously he worked as the Government Affairs Director for the Home Builders’ & Remodelers’ Association of Northern Vermont.

Bill Noyes has become DHECD Deputy Commissioner.

Sara Hoehn of Colchester has joined VHFA's Finance Department as Staff Accountant.

A native Vermonter, she was most recently Staff Accountant at Anderson, Johns & Yao CPAs PC in San Antonio, Texas. Before that she spent time as a Collector at Bank of America in Orono, Maine.

Sara holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance earned at the University of Maine, Orono.
