VHFA celebrated Halloween a little early when we invited employees to bring in their little ones from home for an interoffice trick 'r treat.

The National Housing Conference (NHC) is accepting submissions from member partners for its "Pioneering Housing Strategies" Award.

The award is designed to acknowledge pioneering, forward-thinking strategies that're changing the way we approach affordable housing and community development initiatives.

Sen. Patrick Leahy has added his voice to those praising the Obama administration's plan announced earlier this week to support housing finance agencies, such as VHFA.

Leahy said, "For more than 35 years VHFA has helped thousands of Vermonters buy homes. It fills a vital niche in Vermont’s housing marketplace as a catalyst for affordable housing. The Administration’s solution will help VHFA fulfill that vital role in Vermont’s communities."

VHFA has kicked off our annual tradition of collecting mittens and gloves for the King Street Center in Burlington.

Every year Agency employees stuff mittens and gloves — and the occasional scarf — with candies and treats before presenting them to the King Street Center during the holiday season.

If you'd like to add to the pile, please drop off your donation at VHFA no later than Dec. 10.
