VHFA received the President's Award from the United Way of Chittenden County.

Executive Director Sarah Carpenter accepted the award on behalf of the Agency at Wednesday night's United Way of Chittenden County Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center in South Burlington.

The Center for Housing Policy today released a report that shows Burlington, Vermont, is the 33rd most expensive metropolitan area in the country for housing rentals.

For homeownership, Burlington ties with Sacramento, Calif., as the 56th most expensive in the nation.

The Vermont State Treasurer's Office has produce "Managing Your Money in a Challenging Economy," a television program intended to help Vermonters manage their budgets during the difficult economy.

The 30-minute program will show on cable access stations across the state next week. DVD copies will also be available at local libraries.

The Vermont Downtown Board has designated Winooski's downtown as a "Vermont Neighborhood."

The designation, made possible by last year's housing legislation, makes Winooski eligible for help in the creation of affordable housing.
