Affordable Rental Housing ACTION has reached 100 signed supporters.

The Washington, D.C.-based campaign to stimulate investment in affordable rental housing reached the milestone today.

The organization has drafted three legislative proposals it hopes will help restore investment in affordable rental housing, produce and preserve affordable units, and employ tens of thousands of workers.

Gov. Jim Douglas has appointed Tayt Brooks Commissioner of the Department of Housing, Economic and Community Development (DHECD).

Brooks had been Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Housing and Community Development, which merged with the Department of Economic Development to form DHECD.

Previously he worked as the Government Affairs Director for the Home Builders’ & Remodelers’ Association of Northern Vermont.

Bill Noyes has become DHECD Deputy Commissioner.

Sara Hoehn of Colchester has joined VHFA's Finance Department as Staff Accountant.

A native Vermonter, she was most recently Staff Accountant at Anderson, Johns & Yao CPAs PC in San Antonio, Texas. Before that she spent time as a Collector at Bank of America in Orono, Maine.

Sara holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance earned at the University of Maine, Orono.
